Rep. Correa and Sen. Cortez Masto Honor Contributions of Latinas to the United States

Washington, DC—In honor of Women’s History Month, Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA) and Senator Cortez Masto (D-NV) introduced a resolution recognizing the contributions of Latinas to the United States. This is the first Congressional resolution to honor the unique contributions of Latinas during Women’s History Month. It seeks to shine a light on Latina role models and pioneers by celebrating their accomplishments and inspiring the next generation.

Rep. Correa said, “Latinas have been making America better since our nation’s inception and have contributed in numerous ways including business, the arts, and public service at every level of government. I introduced this resolution not only to honor Latinas but to inspire young Latinas. Because of these trailblazers, they have no limits.”

Senator Cortez Masto said, “Throughout our nation’s history, the contributions of Latinas in science, the arts, medicine and many other fields have strengthened and enriched American society, despite the unique challenges they have had to overcome as they paved their own paths to success. During National Women’s History Month, I want to honor the millions of Latinas whose contributions have made this country better, and celebrate those who blazed their own trails to inspire the next generation.”
